A new British crime drama, Thorne, pairs a classic detective hero with a gay sidekick (shown left). As the Telegraph reports: "At Thorne’s right hand is a gay forensic pathologist, who acts as both professional and personal sounding board. He’s played by Aidan Gillen, the publicity-shy Irish actor who shot to fame a decade ago in the groundbreaking drama Queer as Folk, and who more recently returned to prominence as Mayor Tommy Carcetti in HBO’s The Wire."
