In Hot Pursuit (pg. 151-157) is a short article in the book
Metropolitan Life by Fran Lebowitz. The basic point of the article is to satirise the rather specific and often alarmingly high empirical estimates given for crimes such as the sexual pursuit of underage boys. The bulk of this section is a pastiche entitled "A Study in Harlots" in which Dr Watson and Sherlock Holmes (a.k.a. "Homes and Gardens") are stereotypically gay--and Holmes deduces an accurate way to determine the rate of this sort of activity.
